The system administrator is the person who is responsible for the trouble-free operation of the IT infrastructure, setting up networks, monitoring, watching for security, as well as inventory and updating the company's programs.
Key skills
- An understanding of the architecture of modern computing systems: processors, memory, data buses, storage
- A proficiency in networking, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, VPN, NAT, Firewall, etc.
- Linux administration. Proficiency in managing processes, threads, signals, disk storage, and packages, services, and multi-user systems
- Knowledge of current information security best practices
- Skills in configuring and automating system administration tasks with Ansible and Terraform
- Knowledge of relational databases and ELK, RabbitMQ, Memcached and Redis tools
- Monitoring and logging with Zabbix and Prometheus
- Knowledge of basic Bash programming and scripting
- Knowledge of fault tolerant infrastructure, familiarity with Pacemaker, HAProxy/Nginx and Disaster Recovery
- Knowledge of different types of virtualization and containerization. Proficiency with Docker, KVM, QEMU and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD approaches. Can work with Git and Gitlab .
